What is the MDATA Project?
MDATA
The Peacebuilding and Capacity Development Foundation (PACDEF) and Mutare City Council (MCC) are implementing the Mutare City Dialogue and Technology for Accountability (M-DATA) project in Mutare City.
The project aims at protecting the fundamental rights of Zimbabweans by building the capacity of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to advocate for improved government accountability and documentation of human rights violations
Through the establishment of an Interactive Web platform, residents are encouraged to report rights violations to the Local Authority (Mutare City Council).

The monitoring and documentation of incidents received through the platform are then used to serve the advocacy efforts of local civil society organizations. PACDEF is aiming at improving the skills of civil society organizations in advocacy, strategy planning and communication so that there are better placed to push for Government protection of human rights.
